2022 Grant Projects: Get Involved

Sheridan County

$5,000.00 - January

The Sheridan County Childcare, Senior Activities, and Libraries Support Project will provide resources in the county for area childcare providers, senior activities to enhance the lives of those falling into that demographic, and improvements to the libraries in Hoxie and Selden.

USD 412 Hoxie Community Schools

$5,000.00 - March

Funding to assist with Phase 2 of the High School Auditorium Upgrade project that focused on replacing the stage lighting with a modern LED system.

Main Street Arts Council

$5,000.00 - March

The funding will assist with the costs related to the production of "Frozen Jr" as part of the arts council's annual Main Street Summer Theater Festival providing performance opportunities for area youth.

Sheridan County Hospital

$10,000.00 - May

Funds will assist in the purchase of a new EKG machine.

USD 412 Hoxie Community Schools

$772.50 - May

Funds will assist in sending the 6th grade students on a field trip to Hays to participate in the Smoky Hills Adventure Program located on the campus of Fort Hays State University.

USD 316 Golden Plains Elementary School

$7,500.00 - June

Funding to assist in the resurfacing of the Little Paws Daycare facility's outdoor play area.

Sheridan County Sheriff's Department

$3,560.00 - July

Funds to assist with the purchase of speed radar signs on Hoxie's Main Street as well as a portable sign for use in trouble areas encouraging safe driving of residents and guests traveling through town.

Parkinson's Families of Northwest Kansas

$1,800.00 - August

Funds will assist with expenses incurred to facilitate the organization's "Moving to Liv"e program which provides exercises, resources, and other support to individuals and families living with Parkinson's Disease and Essential Tremors.

Sheridan County Hospital

$9,244.86 - December

The funding will assist in the purchase of a Resident Lift for safe transfer of individuals at the Long Term Care.

K-State Research and Extension Twin Creeks District

$700.00 - December

Grant funds will assist in the supplies and facilitation of the Radon Education Program available to local residents.

USD 412 Hoxie Community Schools

$3,536.42 - June

Funds were granted to help purchase additional materials and supplies for the elementary school's STEAM/Career Cruising programs.

Sheridan County Amusement Company

$5,356.45 - July

Funding to assist with the purchase and installation of new LED lighting enhancing safety on the carnival grounds as well as parts for the Ferris Wheel ride.

Selden Public Library

$2,452.13 - August

Funds assisted in the purchase of security cameras enhancing the safety of library staff and guests.

USD 316 Golden Plains Elementary School

$759.50 - September

Funds were used to purchase Reading Eggs and Mathseeds software to enhance the student learning out preschool through 2nd grade students.

Hoxie Housing Authority

$5,500.00 - September

Funds were used to assist in the removal of trees damaged around the Ridgewood Manor and Eastview Apartments
