$89k raised during annual Match Month campaign

November was a month of connection, celebration, and community spirit in Sheridan County, highlighted by the overwhelming success of the Sheridan County Community Foundation’s (SCCF) annual Match Month fundraising campaign.

With a goal of raising $70,000 during the campaign—sponsored for the ninth consecutive year by the Dane G. Hansen Foundation—SCCF not only met its target but exceeded it, raising an incredible $89,571.12 to date.

“We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the 2024 November Match Month Campaign,” said SCCF Executive Director Karl Pratt. “Your generosity ensures the growth of our endowment fund, Cultivate Sheridan County, which, once opened for applications in the near future, will support grants to benefit our local organizations and the betterment of Sheridan County for generations to come.”

Pratt reflected on the ongoing impact of community support. “It’s truly inspiring to witness the generosity and commitment of those in and around Sheridan County,” he said. “Over the past nine years, the contributions to Cultivate Sheridan County have significantly expanded our ability to invest in the county’s future.”

This year’s campaign will receive additional matching funds, including $100,000 from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation—split equally between the Cultivate Sheridan County Grant Fund and SCCF operations—and $70,000 from the Patterson Family Foundation.

“We are incredibly thankful to the Dane G. Hansen and Patterson Family Foundations for their steadfast support of our mission and their belief in the potential of rural Kansas,” Pratt noted. “Their contributions are a testament to the remarkable impact of philanthropy in building stronger, more vibrant communities.”

Donations to the campaign will be accepted through Friday, December 6. Contributions can be mailed to SCCF at PO Box 445, Hoxie, KS 67740, or dropped off at Pratt Law Office, 736 Main, Hoxie.

In total, the campaign has raised $259,571.12 to date, ensuring significant benefits for Sheridan County—today and in the years ahead.

SCCF is an affiliate of the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation based in Bird City.
