Community Birthday calendar entries and order deadline extended

The Sheridan County Community Foundation (SCCF) has taken over the Community Birthday Calendar sponsored by the former Hoxie Rotary Club. Proceeds from the calendar project will support the Economic Development activities of Sheridan County now overseen by SCCF Program Officer Kerissa Payne.

“We are excited to continue a long-time tradition of camaraderie and community through the Birthday Calendar project,” said Payne. “As a fundraiser, we are hopeful it will also provide some funding to help support new and existing events and programs focused on economic development in Sheridan County.”

The Community Birthday Calendar currently contains birth dates, anniversaries, and memoriam dates of Hoxie area residents who have requested to be added through the years, though new listings from all within or with connections to Sheridan County are encouraged.

“All data previously submitted to the Hoxie Rotary Club is being included with updates being made and updated to the best of our ability,” noted Payne.

To confirm dates that may have previously been added to the calendar, contact Payne at 785-657-7679 or email programs@growsheridancounty.org.

Listing submissions/order forms can be downloaded online in the “Quick Links” section of the Economic Development web page: https://www.sheridancountyks.gov/ecodevo. Forms can also be emailed by contacting Payne or picked up in person at the following Hoxie locations: Bainter Oil Service, 929 Main St; Bottle KAP Studios, 721 Main St; City of Hoxie, 893 Main St; or the Sheridan County Library, 801 Royal Ave.

The deadline to submit birthday, anniversary, and in memoriam listings as well as calendar orders has been extended to Friday, Jan. 17, 2025. All calendar date listings are free; however, calendars are $25.00 each. Cash and checks are accepted (payable to the Foundation); at this time, no online order options are available.

Completed listings submissions and orders can be dropped off at Bottle KAP Studios, 721 Main, Hoxie, or mailed to SD Co EcoDevo, PO Box 445, Hoxie, KS 67740.

The printed calendars will become available in early February 2025. Pick-up/delivery details will be announced and coordinated at that time.

SCCF is an affiliate of the Greater Northwest Kansas Community Foundation based in Bird City.
