Youth Ambassador Program
High School Board Member Position
The Sheridan County Community Foundation views our area youth as the leaders of tomorrow and is dedicated to learning more about their needs, wants and desires to make well-informed decisions for the betterment of all - now and in the future. To that end, SCCF has added a special position to its board of directors exclusively for one high school senior, annually, to serve and provide insight and guidance from the youth perspective:
Sheridan County Community Foundation Youth Ambassador Program Board Member (SCCF-YAP).

The Youth Ambassador Board Member will attend monthly board meetings with full voting rights, help steer the course of the foundation’s programming, assist with foundation events and activities, and learn about philanthropy and community betterment.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

Applicants must be going into their sophomore, junior or senior year and in good academic standing attending school within Sheridan County, Kansas.

The Youth Ambassador Board Member(s) will begin serving their one-year term in June immediately following the conclusion of their freshman/sophomore/junior year, ending in May the following year.

YAPs have the option of renewing their term(s) for additional years through their graduating year, however, all YAPs must reapply annually for consideration of their renewal(s).

Multiple candidates may be selected to fill the board position. In such cases, those appointed will share one (1) vote on the board unless the board approves additional positions to the board of directors with full voting privileges.

Applications will be reviewed and those selected to sit for an interview will be contacted by May 1. The finalist(s) will be announced by May 15 and begin their term in June of the current calendar year.
